OUR MEDICAL CLINIC OPENS IN COMMUNITY CENTER At work in the new clinic: Dr. Shreen with nurses Anoma and Madhu

An anonymous donor has provided funds for setting up a health care facility within the Community Center. The clinic will provide services on a regular basis to EACT project beneficiaries living in the 48 new houses and to surrounding villagers, all of whom would be unable to afford this basic health care.

Building on the EACT model of volunteerism and minimum overhead, the medical clinic will have two full-time nurses, a full-time health educator/counsellor and will be serviced mainly by visiting volunteer medical practitioners. The activities of the Clinic will include a health awareness program, particularly a programto educate young women, men and children about HIV/AIDS and reproductive health, given the proximity and vulnerability of the community to commercial sex.
